The flute sings.....
I wanted to play the flute from the age of 8, when I heard the solo from Mendelssohn’s Reformation Symphony. I was deeply moved by the simple but beautiful melody.
It still has a profound effect on me after all this time. Learning an instrument elevates sensitivity and gives feelings of achievement and self worth, whether it is to fulfill specific goals or is purely for artistic pleasure.
About Me
I was born into a musical family in the USA. After studying and working in Italy and Spain for many years, I moved to the UK. Alongside a busy teaching career, I perform regularly with London's symphony, opera and chamber orchestras. My performing career has taken me all over the world, working with an eclectic range of artists including Luciano Pavarotti, Plácido Domingo, Jose Carreras, Cecilia Bartoli, Kiri Te Kanawa, Andrea Bocelli, Tom Jones, Earth Wind & Fire, Gary Barlow, Cliff Richard, Diana Krall, Jess Gillam, Jools Holland, Karl Jenkins and conductors such as Sir John Eliot Gardiner, Sir Antonio Pappano, and Sir Simon Rattle. I have performed for Queen Elizabeth, Princess Diana and King Charles.
I also specialise in period instrument flute and piccolo and have performed with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and the Orchestre Révolutionnaire et Romantique.
My work includes frequent recordings, along with radio and television broadcasts.

I am an experienced and enthusiastic teacher, in person and online, and have taught for many years at Westminster School, the Guildhall/Centre for Young Musicians and St Paul's Girls' School. My pupils regularly receive Distinction marks in ABRSM and Trinity exams, from early grades to Diploma level.
Judith is a flautist of the highest order who brings a wealth of performing and teaching experience to every lesson. Whether it be an introduction for a beginner or preparation for music conservatoire auditions, one can always be certain of the same level of care and attention to detail with every session tailored to the individual. She is an asset to our department.
